CITY OF UNION CITY
FACILITY RULES & REGULATIONS
THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS MUST BE OBSERVED
DURING USE OF ALL RENTALS
1. Facility is available for rent as follows: Monday through Friday: 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday and/or Sunday: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
2. Cost:
Security Deposits and Processing Checks: If the reservation is being made by a resident of Union City, a rental deposit in the amount of
$250.00 shall be due to secure the building. A portion of this deposit, in the amount of
$100.00 shall be presented to City Hall cashiers as a reservation fee at the time the reservation is made and shall be non-refundable if a cancellation is made. The remaining
$150.00 shall be presented to City Hall cashiers two weeks prior to the event.
If the reservation is being made by a non-resident of Union City, a rental deposit in the amount of
$500.00 shall be due to secure the building. A portion of this deposit, in the amount of
$100.00 shall be presented to City Hall cashiers as a reservation fee at the time the reservation is made and shall be non-refundable if a cancellation is made. The remaining
$400.00 shall be presented to City Hall cashiers two weeks prior to the event.
In addition to the rental deposits described above, a rental fee in the amount of
$40.00 per hour shall be presented to City Hall cashiers two weeks prior to the event.
Please allow 10 working days following the event for refund of the security deposit, considering there are no damages to the facility. (The senior coordinator must be in receipt of the key and complete a "request for check form" and submit it to the Finance Department stating that there were no damages to the facility.)
3. One hour between rentals.
4. Individuals reserving rental facilities must be 21 years of age. Children and teenagers may not be left unattended on the premises without adult supervision.
5. Facilities may not be used for commercial activities by for-profit organizations unless event/activity is pre-approved by the City. The City will not commit its facilities for long-term or regular meetings. In addition, the facility will not be available to any group that excludes persons because of their race, religion, sex, or national origin.
6. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, LITTERING, AND FIREARMS/AIR RIFLES are prohibited by City ordinance, on or around surrounding said areas being property of the City of Union City. NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED INSIDE RENTAL FACILITIES.
7. Tables and chairs will be provided for use at the facility. Applicant is responsible for setting up room according to their needs and returning room back to its original state (including cleaning kitchen area, wiping down counters, and removing all trash to appropriate containers). NO MATERIALS ARE TO BE NAILED, TACKED, OR STAPLED TO ANY FIXTURE OR FURNISHINGS IN RENTAL ROOMS! Tape may be used, but removed before departure.
8. Facilities will be inspected immediately following rentals. Applicant shall be liable for any damages to property while facility is being utilized. Following satisfactory inspections of the premises by City personnel, security deposit will be refunded to applicant.
9. The City is not liable or responsible for any personal items left on the property.
